Fergal, thank you for doing such a wonderful job on our attic conversion. We are using the room all the time and for various purposes: guest room, office, and playroom. During these winter months it is the best place in the house to be as you benefit from the maximum sunlight.

We were very impressed by the process of converting the attic, managed so well by FPN Construction. We are very grateful for all the extra's you included like the relocation of velux windows, the provision of excellent standards of electrical and plumbing work and the wonderful storage spaces, which have made the room just as we wanted.

We were also very pleased with the professionalism of the people who came to work in our home and with no exceptions, their friendliness and consideration, which is very important when you have people in your home.

Another bonus was that the project was managed so well and the time required to complete the work was cut from 15 Days to 8 Days by ensuring trades-people showed up on time an completed their work.

Our young 2 Year old son constantly asks about all the Builders by Name as they all treated him so well. We would happily use FPN Construction again and would recommend your company to any person thinking about an Attic Conversion or other Building work. Please feel free to add us to your list of show houses and should any potential client require a reference please feel free to pass on our contact details.

FPN construction built a one-room extension to my house in November '07 and also opened up another room inside the house by removing a wall and installing an RSJ. Before the work started I was quite nervous about the extent of the changes and how it would all turn out, but very quickly I saw that the work would be done promptly and to a very high standard. Our architect was also very impressed and said he intended to offer some of his own building work to them.

The builders arrived for work at 8am every day and worked a full day, they were friendly, professional and very neat and tidy, which meant there was a minimum amount of disruption. The work was completed on time and I am very happy with the results; we recommend them highly, in fact we are thinking of asking them back to do some more work later this year.

FPN Construction

In Summer 2009 I engaged FPN Construction to build a block shed and garden walls. Within two days Fergal, Peter and Barry had all the foundations in, and over a few short weeks the site was transformed.

I found FPN to be a hardworking, conscientious and totally trustworthy team. I was particularly impressed with the various tweaks that their experience brought to bear on the site. Some didn’t cost a penny: a discrete trench in the shed floor for piping if I ever wanted to fit a radiator. Some were safety conscious: a block chimney for the boiler rather than a flue inside the shed, to reduce the risk of something melting against it. Some were aesthetic and discussed and agreed up front. They were also mindful of the surroundings, selecting bricks, roofing, doors, windows and wall finishes to blend in seamlessly.

The extended team that Fergal has assembled were a pleasure to deal with. They happily reworked the changes of mind I had along the way, turned a loose idea for wildlife-friendly brickwork into a feature wall, and handled all the additional requests I came up with in their stride.
Although still in the depths of winter I am already enjoying the end result. I wish Fergal and his team continued success.

Our build was a lightweight, low impact, timber extension to an existing house, consisting of a new bedroom, ensuite, walk-in wardrobe and hotpress. There were aspects of the construction which were new to Fergal but he and his team were both skilled and adaptable enough to accomplish what was needed.

During the whole course of the build (apart from the xmas break) there was always at least one person on-site - sometimes up to five - putting in a long day's work to keep things moving along.

We were happy to give all of Fergal's team access to all parts of the house even when we were not there. Complete trust was not an issue.

There were inevitably changes to the original specification/quote as things progressed. Charges for additional work were discussed, agreed upon and entirely reasonable. This was good for everyone's peace of mind (and blood pressure) as it's in no-one's interest to end up quibbling about such things at the end of a project.
